Hummus (Chickpeas dip)

Hummus is a popular middle eastern dip. It is made in many different ways but you can always make it as per your taste buds. Hummus is a healthy snack no matter how you eat it.

Ingredients

chickpeas / garbanzo beans - 1 can
tahini (sesame paste) - 1/2 cup
lemons - 1
dry red chilllies - 3-4
cumin seeds - 1 tsp
coriander seeds - 1 tsp
garlic cloves - 4
sun-dried tomatoes - few flakes
Chat masala - 1 tsp
salt
oil


Steps

1. Blend chickpeas, tahini, oil, chillies, cumin, coriander, garlic, salt, and lemon juice into a smooth paste.

2. Add the sundried tomatoes to the paste and mix well. Sprinkle with chat masala. You can also garnish it with mint leaves.





Tips for serving

Hummus is traditionally served with pita bread. It is also good with chips.

Hummus rolls are good appetizers for any party. Simply spread the hummus on a wrap and roll it along with sauteed vegetables like onions, bell pepper, mushrooms etc and press together so that the roll sticks together. Cut into slices and enjoy.
